Agriculture

Working, as we do, in the heart of a huge agricultural belt, we know that even the smallest issues with farm water supply can have a really detrimental impact on farmers.

Water is an absolute necessity for any agricultural business, and we are passionate about providing you with the very best water solutions.

Here are just some of the things we can help you with:

  • Agricultural irrigation
  • Automatic tank fill
  • Bore hole pumps
  • Diesel pump sets
  • Fire-fighting equipment
  • Household Pressure Systems
  • Poly pipes & fittings
  • Power generators
  • Pumps & irrigators
  • Solar pumping systems
  • Spraying equipment
  • Stock water systems
  • Storage tanks
  • Waste water pumps
  • Water harvesting
  • Windmill pumps, and more!

Just some of the brands and products we stock include Grundfos, Philmac, Onga, Southern Cross and Mono Solar pumps, Vinidex pipes, Nelson sprinklers, RapidPlas tanks, feeders, equine and animal products, cropping, Rapid Spray weed spraying, Midwest Concrete troughs, Thunderbird electric fences, Philmac- fittings, Shell oils, generators, the list goes on and on.

When Joel Mace took over the management of the 11,000-acre Goonoo Goonoo Station, just south of Tamworth, it became clear that something needed to be done about the cattle station’s stock-water infrastructure. “There was no other water for stock other than dams and creeks, and when we got our first dry time a couple of years ago, the dams and creeks dried up,” says Joel. With up to 3000 head of cattle on the property at any one time, a solution needed to be found in order to ensure the situation was never repeated.

The first step for Joel and his team was to put down bores. After ground water was found, the team from PPS was called in.

“They came out and tested the bores for what sort of flow rate we’d be able to get, then advised on the best pump and engine for each of our four bores. They also supplied the tanks and pipes, put in more than 20,000 metres of pipes and about 20 new troughs, and supplied three engines to run the bores. They were very good. Any time I had trouble I just rang up and they’d help. It [the work done by PPS] means the place is waterproofed for when we get dry. I don’t have to stress about running out of water!”

The project has been ongoing for the past two years and is on track to be completed by Christmas 2015.
